Saturday (23/3/2024) will be one of the most decisive days for Raden Mas Said State Islamic University (UIN RM Said) regarding its accreditation status. Hundreds of scholars gathered at the Graha Building to welcome the assessor team from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) for the Field Assessment of Higher Education Accreditation (APT). The assessor team is chaired by Prof. Andi Sularso (Universitas Negeri Jember) with members comprising Prof. Ahmad Thib Raya (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta), Prof. Khoiruddin (UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta), and Prof. Asaril Muhajir (UIN Sayyid Rahmatullah Tulungagung).
In his speech, Prof. Toto Suharto, as the rector, expressed his joy in welcoming the attendance of the assessors in the Field Assessment. The rector explained that since 2021, the institution he currently leads has changed its status from Institut Agama Islam Negeri Surakarta to Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Prof. Toto also proudly reported several achievements of educational staff, lecturers, and students at national and international levels. One indicator is evident as UIN RM Said has 10 study programs accredited by Unggul and 7 with “A” accreditation. The rector added that all academia had worked hard to attain academic and non-academic achievements. “Therefore, today we also have to go all out in presenting all the supporting data to achieve “Unggul” for UIN RM Said Surakarta,” he said.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Prof. Andi, as the chief assessor, emphasized that he and the assessor team came to UIN RM Said to confirm the data compiled for almost nine months. Prof. Thib Raya also agreed with this by praising the rapid development at UIN RM Said Surakarta. However, Prof. Thib hoped that all the data presented in this Field Assessment will be as it is and based on facts in the field. Furthermore, he explained the sequence of activities, starting from data confirmation, followed by interviews with stakeholders, users, alumni, and students, which were carried out separately. This field assessment activity was completed in the afternoon of the same day and ended with a meeting with the assessor team to determine the results. (Wildi/PHI) Foto : Habib
